World-wide ski rental network, Skiset, has recently teamed up with Ma’Peite Balise to create a new mobile tracker for kids. From February (just in time for half-term) parents who want to keep tabs on their nippers, either on the mountain or in the resort, will be able to rent a Ma P’tite Balise GPS beacon from participating Skiset hire shops. They can then download the Skiset app, which is free and available for both Apple and Android, et voila, their little ones are under their surveillance.
As well as checking on the exact whereabouts of their children in real time, parents can make their way to them with the help of the ‘compass’ feature, and find out immediately if there is a problem thanks to the SOS button on the Ma P’tite Balise beacon. Parents can even speak to their child directly with the built-in speaker and microphone. It’s a pretty nifty little device that puts your mind at rest for the small sum of approximately €3 (£2.50) a day.
The majority of large resorts will have at least one Skiset hire shop where Ma P’tite Balise can be rented, including La Plagne, Les Arcs, Chamonix, les Menuires and Tignes. From 2015 parents will be able to order them in advance on the Skiset website too. To find out more visit www.skiset.co.uk
