Zurs offers extensive skiing in beautiful scenery for all standards of skiers. Beginners will be impressed by the quality of the nursery slopes, but the progression to the blue runs can be frustrating and more difficult than elsewhere. Snowboarders are well catered for too with few drag lifts and not too many flat sections on the intermediate pistes. Zurs is probably best suited to intermediate skiers, as is the case in the entire Arlberg Ski Area, and you can’t fail to be impressed by the clockwise ‘White Ring’ circuit that takes in 22km of perfectly groomed reds and blues.
Experts will enjoy the deep powder of Zurs as the celebrity clientele don’t tend to venture off-piste and powder remains untracked for longer! The exclusiveness of the resort has other positive side-effects too, with numbers being restricted on the mountain to ensure plenty of open spaces and no lift queues, and many of the new lifts having heated seats!
