There should be no problem finding something to suit all appetites in Wengen, whether you are looking for a simple burger or a five course menu. The standard of food in resort is excellent, even at the lower end of the price spectrum. In terms of mountain pit-stops there are 27 to choose from and there is an ideal mixture of functional self-service restaurants and cosy rustic huts, mostly serving Swiss specialities such as rosti and fondue. Prices are high, but not to the same degree as the more glamorous Swiss resorts.
Apres ski can be as quiet or as noisy as you want in Wengen but even the louder bars manage to avoid tarnishing the quaint image of the village. Hotel lounges offer a quieter alternative for the more mature clientele and if you are lucky enough to be around for the race weekend you’ll experience one of the best parties of the year.
