Back to Schladming

The Schladming area has a good range of hotels and self-catering apartments as well as ‘pensions’ – comfortable guesthouses that offer good value half-board packages. Whilst the centre of resort boasts plenty of upmarket 3 and 4 star hotels, the surrounding villages of Pichl, Rohrmoos, Ramsau and Haus can provide better options for those on a budget as long as you are happy to be in a quiet Austrian village. It can be tricky to find accommodation that takes weekend bookings but there are so many different areas in and around Schladming that checking with the tourist office the week before you travel should give you plenty of options.

For charm it is difficult to beat the Alte Post Hotel right in the centre of Schladming and boasting the oldest guest lounge in the region. It has hosted visitors for over 400 years. Another recommended hotel at the luxury end of the scale is the Sport Royal with its renowned restaurant and first class spa facilities. If your budget is more modest you will find that Haus Alexander offers good value for money and yet is still conveniently located just minutes walk from the Planai gondola. In neighbouring Ramsau (1200m), although more remote, the Pension Hoffelner offers excellent value, as well as running a shuttle to the slopes. If location is everything to you Haus Central offers clean and comfortable slope-side accommodation, though it is a little way from the nightlife of Schladming.
