Back to Schladming

In Schladming it is very difficult to ski through lunchtime without being tempted. There are 46 huts to choose from on the slopes and the hungrier you get the better they seem to smell! Most serve classic winter dishes and heavy Austrian cuisine such as dumplings and stews. There are a few self-service places to be found, but even these seem to have a lot more charm and nicer food than you would expect.

The Styrian people love their food and that is evident in the centre of Schladming. Alongside traditional Styrian cuisine it is easy enough to find Mexican, Chinese and Caribbean food. Whilst the apres ski is low-key the outdoor bars at the foot of the Planai do offer a magical atmosphere as night falls and there are a few town centre bars that come alive after 9pm. The pedestrianised town centre makes it easy to stroll between bars and adds to the atmosphere.
