For a small village there are an enormous range of places to stay in Saas-Fee, and regardless of what you pay Swiss hospitality always offers good value for money, with spacious clean rooms and a friendly welcome. There are beds for over 7000 visitors in Saas-Fee’s numerous chalets, apartments, hotels and guesthouses. As the village is not a purpose-built ski resort, you will struggle to find ski in, ski out accommodation, but this is a small price to pay for the attractiveness of the setting.
Transporting your luggage to your chalet can be a challenge, but you can hire small electro-taxis (approx 25chf), or grab a handcart from the tourist office (with a refundable deposit of 50chf). If you’re staying in a hotel the hassle is taken away as they will pick you up from the station. An alternative option to staying in town is to head to one of the surrounding villages, such as Saas-Grund, Saas-Almagell or Saas-Balen, which are all much smaller and cheaper, but less convenient for the slopes, shops and bars.
