Back to Obergurgl

Obergurgl is very much a half-board hotel resort and families will love the ski to the door convenience of many of the hotels. One particularly worthy of mention is the Hotel Alpenland. Despite being a 4 star hotel their rates start from just €60 per person per night for half-board and the ski school meeting point and kids club are a stone’s throw away. For convenience and apres ski the Hotel Josl next to the lifts has a good reputation as well as one of the liveliest bars in resort and the Edelweiss and Gurgl is right in the centre of resort with a strong repeat client base. A half board stay at the Hotel Jenewein will leave you feeling particularly spoilt as the restaurant is one of the best in the area. If you are looking for pure luxury there is no choice to make. The only 5 star hotel in the area is the aptly named ‘Top Hotel’ in nearby Hochgurgl.

If you are looking to self-cater in order to keep costs down take a look at the Obergurgl tourist office website where you will find around 50 ‘ferienwohnung’ or holiday lets of varying sizes. A B&B package in an inexpensive pension can be a good compromise and there are around 30 to choose from in resort. Pension Hochegg offers simple but charming rooms in a peaceful spot whilst Pension Timmelseck is near the lifts and can sleep up to 28 in 11 rooms (from just €36 per night).
