Back to Obergurgl

The skiing is all above the tree line in Obergurgl, but this does allow for spectacular views across the border in to Italy. Beginners are particularly well looked after and the pistes around Gaisber, Bruggenboden and Mahdstuhllift are ideal for learning. Access is easy enough with a lot of the accommodation in resort being right on the edge of the slopes, and a free ski bus connecting all sectors. Conditions are always likely to be favourable for intermediates looking to build confidence too, with 90% snow-making coverage and immaculate grooming.

Advanced skiers will always find something to do around the Hohe Mut or the moguls of the Wurmkogel. Hiring a guide is also well worth the expense on a powder day, with lifts going up to over 3000m and the majority of visitors staying on the nursery slopes! Nearby Solden also offers more challenging skiing but isn’t linked by lift.
