Staying close to the centre of town has its advantages. A few minutes’ stroll away and you are in the midst of everything, and whether you fancy popping into town for an aperitif or going window shopping, nothing is far away. With the ski lift in the centre of town, you are just five minutes away from being on the slopes. However, most accommodation in or around the centre of this resort is in upmarket hotels or top class apartments, which can be rented from any of the agents in town. The best value hotel in Megeve centre is the Hotel Prairie, near the chamois lift, but if you are happy to splash the cash you could try the stylish Mont Blanc.
There is also a good range of catered chalets close to the centre of the resort but often the best deals can be found by staying just a couple of minutes outside the centre of this chic resort. Ski Royale have a couple of beautiful chalets on offer and with your own in-house chef and a minibus drop-off service they may be ideal for people with children. If location is everything to you then consider Ferme Duvillard at the foot of the Mont d’Arbois gondola. On the road to Mont d’Arbois the Chateau and Residence Megeve offer beautiful apartments and hotel rooms that will take your breath away. For more modestly priced self-catering accommodation the tourist office will be able to advise, but be prepared to stay outside the centre in order to get the best deals.
