Back to Megève

If the slopes of Megeve were to have a weakness it would be the high number of draglifts that make it frustrating for snowboarders. Skiers will find plenty of variety both under and above the tree line but may have to look to the upper slopes at the start and end of the season. At 1100m the runs to the village can get very patchy, although they cross pasture land so only need a few centimetres of snow to be open.

Beginners are well served by the village level nursery areas but be sure to check snow conditions before booking. Poor snow coverage can lead to an arduous journey up the mountain to the higher nursery areas. Intermediates will enjoy the shaded slopes at the back of Mont d’Arbois and the front of Rochebrune, whilst expert skiers will be amazed by the steep runs and vast expanses of powder to be found on Mont Joly. The off-piste to St Nicolas is a local favourite.
