The village of Les Gets is well connected and not too big so most accommodation offers easy access to the slopes on both sides of the valley. If location is important to you though, be sure to check which sector your accommodation is in before booking. For example, a property on the edge of the slopes of Mont Chery may not be ideal for early ski school meetings on the other side of the valley at the bottom of the Chavannes sector.
There are a few of the big name tour operators in Les Gets but they seem to be fading away as more and more independent chalets open up every year. Catered chalets are the most common type of accommodation but there are also some beautiful homely hotels to be found, many of them with their own spa and wellness facilities.
In keeping with its ‘chocolate box’ image Les Gets doesn’t have a lot of large purpose-built apartment blocks. There are plenty of options for people who prefer to self-cater though in the form of chalet sand chalet apartments.
Chalets
The overwhelming majority of the accommodation in Les Gets is in British-run catered chalets and in the past 10 years the numbers available have increased exponentially. Ski Famille have several chalets offering in-house childcare and this is in keeping with the family-friendly nature of the resort. Alpine Navigations have luxurious chalet options whilst Reach4theAlps have two adjoining chalets sleeping 20 between them at the foot of the slopes in the Perrieres district. Ski Total and Esprit are amongst the bigger tour operators with nice chalet options in Les Gets.
Hotels
A few big hotels dominate the centre of Les Gets and there are some good deals to be found, particularly in low season. Of the hotels the Hotel Alpen Sport is in a good spot and has excellent facilities whilst Chalet Hotel Crychar is right on the edge of the slopes with better than average facilities for children. The Boomerang is a no-nonsense 2 Star with a lively bar and simple food. For a spot of pampering consider a stay at the Marmotte Hotel and make full use of the in-house spa facilities ‘Sereni Cimes’. In La Turche the Hotel Maroussia is a charming family-run hotel on the edge of the piste.
Apartments
There are plenty of self-catered options in the centre of Les Gets and on the slopes of the Chavannes sector, and the tourist information office is normally one of the best ways to find what you are looking for. They will have up-to-date listings, as more and more apartment complexes seem to open every winter. Chalet-Apartment Rossin is operated by Host Savoie and offers an intimate sole occupancy chalet on the edge of the piste in the tranquil district of La Turche. Alpine Inspirations also specialise in self-catered properties and have options from 2 person studios up to large group chalets.
