Back to Les Carroz

Les Carroz is under an hour from Geneva airport, making it an excellent choice for short breaks and people with young children. If at all possible, do book your flights in advance as even the ‘cheap’ airlines can be very expensive at peak times.  Other airports such as Grenoble and Lyon are about 2 ½ hours transfer, with Chambéry approximately 1 ½ hours. Most transfer firms offer the choice between a shared or private transfer from Geneva. Go Massif offers shared transfers whilst Rolling Road Transfers are the best bet for a private 8 seater at a rate of 40 Euros per person return – cheaper than a public bus transfer and they will take you to the door.

  • Geneva to Les Carroz 59km, transfer time around 1hr
  • Grenoble to Les Carroz 195km, transfer time around 2hrs
  • Lyon to Les Carroz 191km, transfer time around 2hrs
  • Chambery to Les Carroz 114km, transfer time around 1.25hrs

If you are hiring a car, make sure you book it from the Swiss side (not the French side) as this means you are able to drive on the Swiss motorways, making your journey to and from the airport much easier (and avoids you having to pay 40 Swiss Francs to use the Swiss motorway). Les Carroz is one of the easiest ski resorts to reach by car at less than 600 miles from Calais. Allow about 8 hours driving time from Calais exit the A40 motorway at junction 19 for the 10km climb to the resort. Travelling to Les Carroz by train is not the best option, despite Cluses station only being 20 minutes away. You will have to change trains several times to get there and if travelling to Geneva by TGV you will end up having to cross the city.
