Vanessa frequently writes for MadDogSki.com and so we asked her to pick 5 things to try when in Les Arcs.
Aiguille Rouge to Villaroger

L’Aiguille Rouge 3225m, avec Mont Pourri. Arc2000, France
One of the best ski runs – from the top of the Aiguille Rouge at 3226m, enjoy over 2000m of vertical descent as you tackle the red run down from the highest point of the Les Arcs ski area, via the newly configured Valllee de l’arc blue run from Arc 1950, under the new six man chair at Pre Saint Esprit and all the way on to Villaroger at 1200m (snow permitting!).
Igloo Village and Giant Airbag – Arc 2000
The igloo village just above Arc 2000 is great fun to stop off at on your way back to Arc 1950 or book in for a whole evening and overnight. A guide will snowshoe walk you to the igloo by torchlight, enjoy a Savoyard aperitif and a fondue served in a dining room carved out of ice. Then snuggle into soft fur-covered beds under thick duvets in proper bedrooms hollowed from the ice. Wake up and enjoy breakfast at 2000! At certain times during the season the airbag alongside the igloo is inflated – great fun to launch off this.
Mille 8 –Les Arcs 1800
The Mille8 new-generation riding area which opened last season, is a small area that combines on and off snow activities, for daytime and also during the evening. There is something for everyone – enjoy the boarder cross area, the Toboggan run, the swimming pool, the Penguins and the lodge. It’s really re-generated the 1800 section of Les Arcs.
Slacklining
At the end of each season Les Arcs plays host to Festislack, an event that showcases talent from across the globe. The Slackers, as they are referred to, balance on high ropes strewn between the peaks and perform tricks. A real spectacle to watch and you can even have a go, (on a low line) yourself!
Deep Nature Spa – Arc 1950
After a hard day skiing the Paradiski ski area, all 425km of it, relax off in Arc 1950’s Deep Nature SPA, a 1000m² SPA with stunning views overlooking Mont Blanc. Enjoy the indoor pools with its jets and grottos – this vast area devoted to wellness and relaxation. The Turkish bath, sauna, Jacuzzi, nail spa, relaxation spaces and personalised treatment rooms.
