Back to Lech

This area is not the place to find cheap self-catered ski studios or catered chalets and the upmarket clientele has ensured that hotels dominate the accommodation sector. On the plus side the elegant nature of the resort has led to the better value tourist rooms in B&Bs and guesthouses (‘Pensions’) being immaculately kept and of a very high standard. It is this type of accommodation that people on a budget should try first. The Kirchblick Pension sleeps up to 18 and it is conveniently located near the lift station with nice rooms and a hearty breakfast. The Tannegg is a family-run B&B with simple but charming 2 star facilities. It also benefits from a sauna. If you are looking to self-cater the best option is to search the comprehensive tourist office website. There are around 80 chalets and apartments of various standards in their listings.

If you are looking for hotels without needing a second mortgage there are a few sensibly-priced ones amongst the 73 options! Three stars is as low as it goes around here but take a look at Hotel Stulzis, or in the hamlet of Oberlech the Sporthotel Cresta offers rooms from around €150 per person per night on the edge of the piste.  In the same area the classy 4 star Hotel Sonnenburg offers convenience and first class facilities, whilst those looking for real pampering should head to the 5 star Hotel Arlberg in the centre of town for half board gourmet packages from around £2000 per person per week!
