Back to La Clusaz

Geneva is by far the best airport to fly into, with a wide range of budget airlines flying there. The airport is quite small, making it easy to be off your flight and through into arrivals and with your bags within 30 minutes. It can get quite congested on Saturdays throughout the season as it is one of the main ‘ski’ airports in the Alps, but the transfer time is just one hour to the resort and is normally fairly fast moving once you are out of Switzerland and onto French motorways. La Clusaz is still a relatively undiscovered resort by the English so not many transfers go to and from there, and the ones that do fill up fairly quickly. It is best to book your transfer in advance with one of the dedicated companies. Alternatively regular bus services run on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Taking the train is a nice alternative to flying and La Clusaz is particularly easy by train. The TGV service from Paris will take you quickly to Annecy, a beautiful lakeside town just half an hour from the resort and serviced by regular buses. You can be in resort 8 hours after leaving London on the Eurostar service. It takes about nine hours from Calais to La Clusaz by car, although the driving is very easy. Once you reach the ‘Autoroute Blanche’ after Geneva it is just one hours’ drive to resort, getting off the motorway at Bonneville. Road tolls will cost between around €69.
