There is a wide variety of accommodation on offer for visitors to Kicking Horse, both on the mountain and in the nearby town of Golden. The resort village is small, but the hotels and lodges are mainly ski in, ski out, offering great service and good value for money. In the nearby town of Golden, about a twenty-minute journey away, there are many more places to stay, including some good affordable options if you’re skiing on a budget. The cheap and regular shuttle bus service makes the commute quite doable. The town also has a lively evening scene if you’re after a party, as well as more shopping and amenities in general.

Hotels in Kicking Horse

The Glacier Mountaineer Lodge is perfectly located at the base of the Golden Eagle Express Gondola, right in the heart of the resort village plaza. Many rooms have exceptional views of the Columbia Valley and the Rocky Mountains. This is seriously convenient ski in, ski out accommodation, and there are ground-floor lockers for even more ease of access. Both self-contained condominiums and hotel-style guest rooms are available at the lodge, and all guests have access to the outdoor hot-tub, sauna, steam room and fitness suite. The Whispering Pines offer large ski in, ski out condos for groups, complete with full kitchens, hot-tubs and parking.

There are some great self-catering chalets in the resort offering real luxury, both in terms of amenities and setting. Many are quite large, so are particularly good for big groups or extended families.

Accommodation near Kicking Horse

Down in the town of Golden, around a twenty-minute journey from the resort, there is a full range of accommodation, from up-scale hotels, to more basic motels, Inns and B&Bs. The Auberg Kicking Horse B&B is a popular choice with an outdoor hot tub and a great atmosphere. The shuttle bus service to the Kicking Horse ski lifts is regular and very affordable.
