Kicking Horse Ski Resort is situated between three different mountain ranges, the Rocky, Purcell and Selkirk ranges. It is located near the small town of Golden in Canada’s British Colombia. There are several other nearby ski resorts too, making it a great stop on a tour of the region, with Revelstoke, Lake Louise and Sunshine ski resorts all well under 100km away.
Flying to Kicking Horse
The closest international airport is in Calgary, approximately a three-hour drive or shuttle ride from Golden, along the scenic Trans-Canada Highway. Calgary receives multiple daily commercial flights to and from regional, national and international destinations, and this is where most visitors to Kicking Horse touch-down.

Airport transfers to Kicking Horse
There are regular shuttle bus transfers from Calgary (both from the airport and the city) to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. It is both easy and convenient to simply add an airport transfer to your ski holiday package when booking.
Driving to Kicking Horse
Kicking Horse ski resort is about 100km west of Banff, 265km west of Calgary and 680km northwest of Vancouver. If you’re driving to Kicking Horse from Calgary Airport, it couldn’t really be any simpler. Just take the Trans-Canada Highway 1 Westbound for about 2.5 hours all the way to Golden, and then turn off for the resort. If you’re taking a road trip from Vancouver to Kicking Horse, you should allow for around 7-8 hours of travel time. First take the eastbound Trans-Canada Highway to Hope, where you change on to the Coquihalla Highway towards Kamloops.
