Back to Kicking Horse

There are several things to do in Kicking Horse when you’re not skiing, many of them outdoorsy. Shopping is limited in resort, though you will find an overwhelming variety of Kicking Horse branded merchandise to take home with you, as well as a well-stocked grocery. There are a few more shops in Golden too.

Sightseeing in Kicking Horse

If you’re exploring the mountains via snow-shoe, you’ll sometimes be able to spot mountain wildlife. If you enjoy wildlife photography and you don’t come across any photo-ops in the wild, then the Northern Lights Wildlife Wolf Center is the place to go. There is also a tiny grizzly bear sanctuary home to just one bear. However, Boo the bear is likely to be hibernating throughout most of the ski season. In the town of Golden you’ll also find a small local history museum and a couple of art galleries.
