Gridelwald offers a good range of things to do when you’re not skiing. There are plenty of adventure activities, including zip-lines, canyon swings, sledging runs and an indoor rope course for bad weather days.
One not to miss is a ride on the highest train in Europe to Jungfraujoch (3454m). The views from the ‘Top of Europe’ are incredible, so much so that the area has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can enjoy lunch at the top and take in the spectacular vistas.
There are several events throughout the year, with a week long International Snow Festival held every January. This is a great one for kids with different countries getting creative and competing to sculpt the most elaborate ice and snow sculptures.
