Back to Flaine

Flaine is very much a resort of apartments and club hotel complexes, so if you are looking to stay in a chocolate-box type chalet environment it would be best to look at neighbouring Les Carroz, Morillon or Samoens. The prettiest part of Flaine is the Hameau de Flaine at 1800m and located above the main resort. This development of Scandinavian-style chalets is not on the slopes, but a regular shuttle bus makes the 2km journey to the lifts. The colourful chalets in the Hameau are mostly available on a self-catered basis through Flaine-Reservation.com. For a catered option in the Hameau de Flaine try Neilson.

In the resort itself the big tour operators dominate the accommodation market and amongst the better options are the two star residence Le Totem run by Crystal and the Foret apartment complex at the top of the resort that has been renovated fairly recently, making it nicer and more spacious than most of the 1960s blocks. Most of the major tour operators have this in their portfolio but PV Holidays is a major player and probably a good start point. There are very few genuine hotels in Flaine but the Club Hotel MMV Le Flaine offers spacious rooms, nice leisure facilities and a convenient location on the edge of the slopes in the Forum district. For a peaceful and convenient spot take a look at the half board packages offered by Chambre d’Hote Les cascades in the middle of the Azurite piste!
