All of the skiing on the 140km of piste local to Flaine takes place in the one big bowl and access to the high point of Grand Platieres is by high-speed super gondola that moves queues very effectively. All runs ultimately lead back to the nursery area at the Flaine, where novices have superb facilities and the best possible chance of catching the ski bug! Snowboarders will love the wide open spaces here, all served by chairlifts, as well as the freestyle ‘Jam Park’.

The majority of the pistes are well-suited to intermediates but advanced skiers will love the off-piste just to the side of all the runs as well as the moguls of Gers. The off-piste here is amongst the best in Europe. On poor visibility days take the high-speed 8 man chair over the back of the bowl and head to the lower villages of the Grand Massif in the treeline. Getting back can be time-consuming.
