Fernie Alpine Resort offers over 2500 acres of skiable terrain with a good mix for different ability levels. The longest run is a good 5km long! The ski area is made up of a series of bowls. Over recent years the piste infrastructure has been improved with better piste-grooming and signposting.
Intermediates are served well with the Lower Mountain and Elk and Deer chair lifts. The Lizard Bowl is great for intermediates and the ridgeline steeps and trees are challenging for the experts.
Off-piste skiing is widely available but it is advisable to take a guide with you, not only will you be safer but they can take you to areas you will probably not be able to find on your own. There are a number of courses on offer from NONSTOP to Steep and Deep camps. Whoever you go with you will find it a great way to make sure that you get the best out of the mountain.
There are no obvious flat areas to be avoided by snowboarders and there is a Rail Park and Boardercross available.
