Chatel is best accessed from Geneva airport, which is the closest at only one hour away. Flying to Geneva is by far the quickest and most convenient way of reaching the resort with a one hour transfer time by road. Bus transfers with SAT are the most economical way to travel to resort from the airport or train station. If possible, try to book your tickets well in advance as the buses can get very busy. Alternatively there are plenty of private transfer firms offering 8 seater minibus transfers and you should expect to pay around £40 per person for a return transfer. These services have the advantage of dropping you right at the door of your chalet.

Hiring a car is another good option and the drive to resort from Geneva takes just over an hour, depending on the volume of traffic around the city. Cars hired on the Swiss side come equipped with snow tyres and chains, whereas the cheaper hire cars in the French sector do not. If you use any Swiss motorway you will need to have the annual Vignette at a cost of 40 CHF (provided with Swiss hire cars). Chatel is one of the easiest resorts to drive to from the UK at around 8 hours from the French ports. If you fancy the eco-friendly option of train travel it is easy enough to reach Thonon-Les-Bains by Eurostar to Paris and then just one change. The station is still 40km from resort though so try to catch a bus as taxis are expensive
