Back to Argentière

A lot of people choose to stay in Chamonix for better nightlife but if your priority is the skiing rather than the party scene there are plenty of good options in the village itself. This resort tends to attract people serious about first tracks on the mighty Grand Montets, and the Gite Le Belvedere combines cheap and cheerful dormitory beds with an easy stroll to the lifts. There are a lot of self-catered properties available in resort and Argentiere Rentals offers a nice selection of varying sizes. Families are well catered for at the Le Cristal d’Argentiere apartments and by renting with their ski hire partners you will be able to leave your gear at the lift station. That 5 minute walk home with the kids is much easier without skis!

If you have a bit more money to spend on your accommodation take a look at the charming chalets run by Mont Blanc Retreats. They have 6 properties in and around Argentiere and offer fully catered options as well as self-catered and a B&B. At the more luxurious end of the chalet market Marmotte Mountain offer three catered chalets right on the edge of the pistes of Grand Montets. Hotels are few and far between in Argentiere itself and Chamonix has a better selection. However, the 3 star Grand Montets has a great location just opposite the cable car of the same name, and it offers guests a good range of off-slope facilities such as a gymnasium and spa.
