Being fit to ski is crucial if you want to make the most of your time on the snow. Whether you are a snowsports professional, a once-a-year with friends or family skier, or perhaps a serial weekender, these new videos from Great Britain’s number one skier, Dave Ryding, will help you to be a fitter and possibly faster, skier. The video series will help you to improve your overall fitness and make you stronger, which in turn helps to reduce the risk of injury.
MadDogSki.com is delighted to support Snowsport England who have joined forces with Dave Ryding, David Lloyd Clubs and SportPursuit in order to produce this new and exciting series of ski fit videos aimed at helping all levels of skiers get in shape for a day or week on the slopes.
Dave Ryding combines his own experience with the fitness expertise of David Lloyd Clubs’ Personal Training team.
The exercises, which are also suitable for beginners, are easy to follow and are split into three videos:
Body and core strength for skiing
Leg strength for skiing
Active recovery for skiing
“Fitness and conditioning is obviously a huge part of my daily routine and I know how crucial it is in staying injury free and getting the most out of your skiing”, said three-time Olympian Dave Ryding.
“When Snowsport England, who helped me get into skiing when I was younger, suggested the idea of working together to produce a ski fitness video I jumped at the chance to pass on my knowledge.
David Ryding has worked tirelessly with David Lloyd Clubs to enure all three videos are tailored to every level of skier.
“As well as putting the time in ahead of your holiday to get fit and strong, your days off are just as important. Active recovery is a vital part of your preparation. You can do mobility work on your days off to aid recovery and help you keep injury free and ready for your next strengthening session – then ultimately your time on the slopes!” added Dave.
SportPursuit, along with MadDogSki.com and many others within the snowsports industry, are helping to promote ‘Get Fit to Ski‘ to the widest possible skiing audience, along with the new Snowsport England‘s new ‘Hit the Slopes‘ membership.
