The Hotel Savoy is tucked away in a quiet street in Selva and offers 4 star ski in, ski out accommodation. There’s a lift from the boot room which takes you out on to the slopes just 50m from the nearest lift, and the piste from Plan de Gralba brings you directly to the hotel door at the end of your day.

The hotel is a traditional building and the hotel staff wear traditional costumes, so there’s never any doubt you’re in the mountains. And being a 4 star establishment, the service, amenities and the cuisine are all top notch.

After a long day on the mountain, the “La Saliga” spa is a treat in itself even without booking one of the many treatments. As well as a steam room, saunas and a fresh spring water inside/outside swimming pool (heated to a very acceptable 32°C) you’ll find Kniepp baths and relaxation areas.

The food is so delicious you’d be forgiven for doubting it’s also good for you. The hotel’s chef offers natural South Tyrolean gourmet cuisine with Mediterranean flavours. The five-course dinner includes an impressive buffet of over 20 different options with lots of salads, which makes a really refreshing change on a ski holiday.

There’s a strong focus on local products and a ban on glutamates and flavour enhancers. They use a cooking technique called “sous-vide” which helps to preserve the vitamins and goodness. Food is sealed and then cooked in a steam environment at much lower temperatures than normal. If all that sounds too healthy, the hotel also has a well-stocked wine cellar with 500 different wines. After dinner you can relax in the piano bar or by the open fireplace.

The Hotel Savoy is a member of Selva Active! and as well as skiing, guests can take part in the varied weekly programme of activities free of charge. (Childcare is not included.)  The active programme includes snow shoe walking, ice-skating lessons, wildlife tracking and winter walks.
