This revolving restaurant is on the top of the Schlithorn and is a must visit if you are in the area. The views of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau are amazing. The place was made famous by the James Bond film ‘On her Majesties Secret Service’ filmed in 1968. The film location fees helped pay for the restaurant to be finished off and opened to the public in 1969. The restaurant takes 45 minutes to revolve completely and sitting on the outer edge is a must if you can swing it – the views from here are by far the best.

The restaurant itself isn’t overly expensive, but service can sometimes be a little slow if you get there at peak times (1pm-2pm). The menu ranges from soup and salad to specialities served in a hot pan. Anything with James Bond in the name tends to be more expensive and there is not much choice for vegetarians. Real fans should look out for the special James Bond buffets and events that are held throughout the year.

The restaurant is located on the Murren side of the valley.
