Although it’s piste-side, you won’t find the Goldener Berg marked on your piste map. Owned by the same company as the charming Hospiz Alm in St Christoph, the Goldener Berg is equally welcoming. The large sunny terrace has a buzzing bar where you can enjoy a drink while you wait for a table. The fenced off ‘gourmet corner’ – complete with sheep-skin chair covers – has a more elaborate menu and prices are firmly in the expensive bracket. On the standard menu however main course prices are slightly cheaper and the food is more imaginative than you find in many other mountain restaurants. Worth a visit, even if you usually avoid hotel restaurants.
Main courses are only served until 2pm so arrive early.
Located just above the Petersboden chairlift, near Blue 34 (Kriegeralpe Oberlech-Lech). Pedestrians take the Bergbahn Oberlech cable car from Lech followed by a walk.
