A centrally located mountain restaurant ideal for a lunch stop, particularly if you’ve come over to Thyon for the day. From the outside it may not look particularly welcoming, but the chef is more inventive than many on the mountain and prices are reasonable. If you feel like a blow-out, try the four-course set menu; options might include tomato and port consomme, duck liver with balsamic vinegar, rack of lamb and a choice of puddings. The menu offers monkfish in a saffron sauce , grilled fillet of beef and peppered pork chop with rosti.
Vegetarian options are rather limited, unless you eat fish. There’s a children’s menu with spaghetti, tortellini and hamburgers.
Lifts: at the bottom of 32 Matze and 33 Theytaz 1. Pedestrian: from les Collons only.
