Every Saturday in January, February and during the first week in March, the lights are on from 6.30pm until 9.00pm on the 2200m specially dedicated piste.

There are quite simply never enough hours in the day where you can be on the slopes, so having extra time to hit the piste is a bonus, especially if you want a great-value long-weekend trip away.

One of Austria’s Top 10 resorts, Nassfeld’s vast area is very snow-reliable and has a wide range of intermediate slopes. It also records the highest average number of sunshine hours of any Austrian resort!

With 30 ski lifts and 110 kilometres of piste you are spoiled for choice. Nassfeld has the longest gondola – the four-mile Millennium Express – and the floodlit run is part of the seven-mile Carnia run.

Nassfeld is the ideal destination for a long-weekend as it takes just one hour to transfer from the airport to the resort. Klagenfurt airport, which has twice-weekly direct EasyJet flights from London Gatwick, prides itself on the speed with which it gets passengers through the terminal.

Flights depart Gatwick on Saturdays at 10:50, arriving at 14.05 – meaning you can enjoy at least five hours skiing on the same day you fly!

Return flights are on Wednesday from Klagenfurt at 10:55, Arriving 12:10 (flight times vary in on some dates.)

To encourage visitors this winter selected hotels in Nassfeld are offering free transport to and from the airport. When you arrive, a vehicle will be waiting to whisk you straight to the resort – saving more than €200 return (or approximately £170). And with flight prices from just £11 you can enjoy a quality trip at a bargain price.

There are also some great incentives being offered by the hotels. The four-start Franz Ferdinand Mountain resort, with direct ski-in-ski-out access to the slopes, offers a deal to stay four nights, pay for three for half-board for two people sharing.

Example price: flight-inclusive trip £348 per person from 7-11 March 2020 (includes flights, transfers, half board at the FRANZ ferdinand Mountain Resort and flights London Gatwick to Klagenfurt, departure 10:50, arrival 14:05 returning Klagenfurt to London Gatwick, departure 10:55, arrival 12:10).

The transfer will be arranged by the hotel – so incoming passengers need to inform them of their flight details when making their booking. Please quote “Special offer-free transfers from Klagenfurt Airport” when you contact the hotel to make your booking.

Please allow at least one week prior to your arrival and let them know of any special requirements (infant seat, wheelchair).
