Crash bang wallop - the results
Here at last, the moment you've all been waiting for, it's time to unveil the results of the MadDogSki 'Crash Bang Wallop' poll. Exciting, no? Read on to find out who falls over most out of skiers and snowboarders, just how often they fall over, and how miserable they feel when they do.
How much falling over goes on?
We can now reveal that the majority of you skiing folks, on an average week's ski holiday, fall over once or twice. That's 40% of people in the once-or-twice camp. A quarter of you admit to falling over around five times, 16% are pushing ten times, and another 16% are spending quite a lot of their valuable holiday time on their padded posteriors.
Just one person said they never, ever fall over. Well done you; try harder.
Who is doing this falling over?
Unexpectedly, this cast-iron and highly representative poll did not find that snowboarders fall over more than skiers, with no snowboarders falling over more than ten times. Although three quarters of skiers fell over two to five times, skiers were happier to admit to rather more bum-time.
And then?
After your wee tumble almost 70% of you get up and get on with it. No snowboarders admitted to feeling sorry for themselves, and no one at all confessed to throwing their gloves on the floor and stalking off to the cafe, although one very honest individual did tell us that he/she (we're guessing she, although mostly because of the honesty) does "Get up and get on with it, then pretend I need the loo so I can inspect my bumps and bruises in private (and sob a little if necessary)"
One exclamation-tastic skier wrote that "If you don't face plant everday you're not having any fun!!!!!!!" He/she also ticked the 'ten times or more' box, so we can be safe in the knowledge that he/she is having a lot of fun, over and over, and over again.
Thanks to everyone who took part - there will be another poll along soon.
