Ski resorts in New Zealand

New Zealand is the most popular of the southern hemisphere destinations for skiers and snowboarders. While people looking for a snow fix on the other side of the world can chose between Australia, New Zealand, Chile and Argentina; in the main, it is NZ that has captured the market.

The mountains may not have the vertical descent of the US, Canada, Europe or South America; but there is burgeoning scene and love of the outdoors that has seen wintersports communities thrive around the feeder towns of Christchurch and Wanaka on the South Island.
