Sainte Foy – Where to stay

Sainte Foy is primarily a chalet resort and has undergone much renovation in the last couple of years creating more and more traditional chalets to stay in. Whatever your budget, if you are skiing in high season, you should book as early as possible. For those on a tight budget, the more flexible you are and the later you book, the more likely you are to get a bargain, particularly at the beginning and end of the season. Though Sainte Foy opened as a ski resort in only 1990, it has kept its charm by building the resort in the traditional alpine style. Over 100 hamlets, covering 11,000 hectares, make up the Sainte Foy area, and a free shuttle bus links the main village, and the hamlet of La Thuile, to the ski resort.
 
Accommodation can be found in the resort itself, in the original main village of Sainte Foy, and in many of the nearby hamlets. Premiere Neige has wide choice of spacious chalets and apartments with stunning views, all fully equipped and in excellent locations. If you don’t want the hassle of booking everything yourself try Erna Low for all-inclusive packages, but the more independent traveller will find that self-catering is a good option and Interhome have a good range of chalets and apartments. Food is generally very good in the area but the Hotel le Monal is the place for serious foodies to stay, with its panoramic restaurant serving local specialities.
