Winter Urban Plagne Festival returns

Between 9th to 15th April, 2012 la Plagne will be hosting the 5th Winter Urban Plagne Festival and it promises to be more dynamic than ever this year.  Combining a film festival, pro-rider competition, along with ski tests, concerts and parties, it is set to be an action packed week.

Urban Festival, La Plagne, France 2012In its 5th year and after huge success in 2011 the Winter Urban Plagne festival has added a new exciting dimension for 2012 – Pro riders are given 96 hours to create, produce and direct a short film showcasing their best free style tricks, moves and skills. All of which has taken place in and around the vast playground of the la Plagne ski area. The judging panel includes Oscar winning producer/director of Indochine, Régis Warnier who will pick the winning film.
During the festival visitors and public can also enjoy Winter Urban Plagne Festival and mountain-themed film screenings. Not to mention, try out the brand new skis/boards for 2013 as part of the ski & board test.

Monday 9 to Friday 13 April 2012
With a prize pot of 10 000€ up for grabs teams of pro riders are given 4 days to shoot, film, edit and create a high quality short film.  Each team is mentored by a key ambassador from the film industry to help and guide them in the creation of their masterpiece.  Régis Warnier, member of the French Académie and film director of Oscar winning will head up the judging panel along with four other personalities from the world of winter sports and cinema.


FREE Film Screenings  

Throughout the week visitors to la Plagne can also enjoy free film screenings of mountain-themed films for FREE. Many of the films are handpicked by the professional riders in the Pro Video Contest, with some tipped for the IF3 festival  in , including films tipped from the IF3 festival 2011.
