More snow please, for Zermatt

"Please Santa can we have some snow for Christmas!”
Well, firstly I guess I should say Hello again to all you maddog blog readers and co-bloggers. I guess all of ya’ll in your various corners of the mountains have got impressive amounts of snow. We’re still waiting for our little flurry. That’s not to say it’s not on its way though, it looks like the next few days are set to bring as a nice metre at least and boxing day should be blue skies. So if the snow gods are with us, we’re set to have an epic day after Christmas to ease those hangovers and put a smile on everyones flushed faces!

All of you who are stranded in Blighty, we are awaiting your arrival and look forward to having some fresh faces and interesting outfits no doubt on our slopes. It seems strangely quiet, but that’s not always a bad thing. No queueing or scrabbling at the lift makes for good mountain time. Every year I’m amazed at the chaos England manages to get into and I’m sure you all are bemused as well. I wish you good luck and safe journeys escaping the “BIG FREEZE” and hopefully you’ll all arrive here soon for a well deserved relax in some slightly less wet snow.

The town is looking amazing with all the lights on and of course the sleighs are out in force with their army of horses. We have seen a few changes in town i.e new hotel at the “Vernissage”  and also a new “Pipe” pretty close by the ice rink.

So, finally I wish you all a very merry Christmas and greetings from Zermatt...

My name is Daniel Scott, I'm a snowboard instructor based in Zermatt. I’ve been doing seasons for the past ten years and have done every job going in order to stay in the mountains. I’ve slept in many a strange place and been skint for many a season. I’m proud to now say I stuck it out and it's worked well so far. I've been teaching in Zermatt for the past four seasons and now I’m a fully certified ISIA patent instructor. I'm working for a wicked little school called AER Snowboard school (WWW.AERZONE.CH).
