The final countdown

“The final countdown, dadada deeerr...”

It’s the “final countdown” into the last month of the season. If you haven’t already visited Zermatt, Then get here! We have some awesome snow at the moment and the mountain is particularly beautiful. It looks like we should also be expecting a little extra snow fall this weekend as well and because we’re nice and high and cold the snow is sticking around for a while and there is enough powder for everyone, woop woop!

Lots going on in Zermatt at the moment as well as our neighbouring Cervinia, which saw the “Volcom Peanut butter Jelly Jam” a few days ago. Lots of great riders turned out and the weather was scorching. This Monday we will see the Annual John Wilhlemson Photography completion held in the “Bubble” bar in the centre of town. All local photographers get the chance to show three of their best season pics and go up against some tough completion in order to take home the prestigious John Wilhelmson Award! Always an awesome night, and if you’re in town be sure to cruise by the “Bubble” and have a look.

On another note i’d just like to put some info out there for ya’ll. Anybody who is looking at possibly joining a snowboard or ski camp for the future or maybe one for your budding children, then look no further! Myself and two other coaches are joining forces with Irish gold medallist to create an extremely unique camp experience. As we are all british fully certified ISIA instructors and top level freestyle coaches  we can offer you nothing but the best coaching for you and/or your children. BUT, the beauty of this idea is it’s teamed up with a language education programme. That’s right, you can shred the mountain at the same time as learning a new language and you won’t even realise it’s happening. This is a very new and original concept and if your interested forther then please check out the new  website. Many more camps and destinations to be announces in the future : www.learningcurvecamps.com .

Thanks for reading my blog and hope to see you soon in Zermatt, enjoy the spring time weather everyone.........

My name is Daniel Scott, I'm a snowboard instructor based in Zermatt. I’ve been doing seasons for the past ten years and have done every job going in order to stay in the mountains. I’ve slept in many a strange place and been skint for many a season. I’m proud to now say I stuck it out and it's worked well so far. I've been teaching in Zermatt for the past four seasons and now I’m a fully certified ISIA patent instructor. I'm working for a wicked little school called AER Snowboard school (WWW.AERZONE.CH).
