Hemel Hempstead's Snow Centre has the perfect holiday plan, to wear the kids out and burn off the Easter eggs. It's a 67m run with little bumps and jumps to keep things lively, and a choice of three vehicles upon which to make your speedy way to the bottom.

Learning to ski at 40 is pretty daunting and, I have to admit, not something I thought I would ever do.  However I have been trying to master the art with varying success over the last few years. My technique is not too bad, I know how to turn, how to stop and get on and off chair lifts. Unfortunately I do not have great balance at the best of times so when I am strapped into boots with skis attached fear kicks in. The worst snow in thirty years, says the radio as I type. Looks like the best to me! Sure, the UK has ground to a halt, but official statistics* show that for every one person who is having a horrible time in a jam on a motorway, there are nine people getting all excited about fluffy stuff falling from the sky.

Traditionally the ski season ends after Easter but the weather has different ideas this year. The snow is still falling across the Alps and many operators are extending their season into May. Here are late ski deals, however it looks like they may not be the last!
