August 2009. At last we were off for a 4 week training camp. Three of us flew out from Britain a few days early to get some free skiing under our belts after a long time off the snow and get acclimatised to the high altitude and the get over the jet lag before the rest of the team joined us. The flight was 10hours from Heathrow to Sao Paolo with a 2hour wait for a connecting flight to Santiago. I landed early morning and met up with the others who flew from Scotland via differing routes. We hired a four wheel pick up to drive the 2 hours up to La Parva with our equipment.
