Well it’s my first blog of the season, so hello from Meribel.  It was an awesome start to the season, the week I arrived out here for training it dumped solid for a week and a half, making it one of the best starts to the season for a decade.  And hey it pretty much hasn’t snowed since, until now wayhey.

It’s taken a while this season for High alpine conditions to be skiable but thankfully things have taken a major turn for the better.The snowpack has stabilized & together with a few good dumps of snow & the Peak ,Harmony & Symphony chairs have been providing some excellent skiing on Whistler.All the bowls are now open offering more challenging terrain & the pistes have been mint.Dave Murray,Tokum & The Saddle being particularly good when groomed.

The recent news from France that ski hosting by British tour operators or chalet hosts is to be outlawed has caused a lot of concern among British skiers. Ski hosts are generally chalet hosts who will take their guests around the mountains to familiarise them with the best runs, a free service and a great added extra to your ski holiday package.  It all started when a chalet host from Le Ski was taking his guests on a run and was stopped by the French Police and questioned. Le Ski is now appealing the ruling through the courts in France but this could have far reaching consequences for everybody involved.
