Arc 1950 is a purpose built village designed to give you the easiest ski experience you’ll ever have. The accommodation is largely self-catering and each of the apartment buildings has its own unique décor. I’d read that each building offered ski in, ski-out and that all of the village facilities are just a few minutes’ walk away but I was really impressed by just how easy and close everything is.
Erna Low has a good selection of different sizes of apartments from 2-9 people. Ours was a two bedroom/two bathroom in the Refuge du Montagnard building with a corner balcony and views right onto the slopes. (So close that the one morning I overslept, it was the sound of people skiing outside my bedroom window that woke me.)
These are truly classy apartments with great facilities:
- Free spa facilities in each building (steam room, sauna, jacuzzi)
- Use of the outdoor swimming pools (one is an indoor/outdoor pool)
- Guest laundry in each building
- Free Wi-Fi
- On the slopes boot room
- Satellite television
As you’d expect from Erna Low, it’s all very well organised with bed linen, towels, end-of-stay cleaning (excluding kitchenette) included. I was particularly impressed with the welcome pack with small sizes of cleaning products, condiments etc. to get you started and a large bag specifically for recyclable rubbish (so my green self was happy too).
The bathrooms have lovely toiletries (the kind you actually want to use) and slippers and robes (to use in the spa).
The apartments are self-catering but there’s a good range of restaurants to choose from both in 1950 and 2000 as well as take away pizzas.
Parking is under the village with lifts directly to each building reception so you don’t even need to worry about digging your car out at the end of your stay.
Erna Low offer 7 nights in P&V Residence Le Village Arc 1950 from £324 including flights and shared transfers
