Nicky was first on snow in Wengen aged five. She became a Coggin, "fun, fast skiing for kids" which was the first step for pre-race training at the DHO (Downhill Only Club) and started early race training. Journalism won out over sport and she because a news reporter, the first female news reporter on The Toronto Sun, and later the Evening Standard’s New York correspondent. But skiing was always an obsession and after a winter of endless press trips writing for Harper’s, GQ, ski magazines and national newspapers she became the ski correspondent for The Guardian and snowboard editor for the Ski Club’s magazine, Ski and Board. Off piste, ski touring and adventure are her passion. She is also highly proficient at apres ski.
