This place looks like a traditional chalet but hides a spacious bar that is the best place to party later on. Smithy's Tavern on the rue du Cairou serves excellent char-grilled meats and fishes in very generous portions (open 6.30pm until 11pm). Try their Pork ribs in bbq suace (17€) or chicken fajitas (15€). Their bar downstairs is the best place to party later in the evening (open until 2am), with the real hard-core graduating to L'Avalanche, right next door, open until 4am.

The late night bar. Gets busy around 22.30 and raucous soon after. Everything you'd expect from such a bar.
