Startgels

Access from piste 10. The restaurant to the left and below the piste just before a steep dip to cross a bridge. It's not so easily visible until you're almost on top of it. The restaurant is slightly above the lift station. Pedestrians exit at the Startgels cable car station from Grauberg, if you stand in front of the cable car, the entrance is visible up and to the right, walk up a short path to the restaurant. The small outside terrace has good views of the valley and is roofed over which is great fro protection when the weather is less than perfect. The restaurant is table service only and has daily specials. Examples prices from the menu are; soup of the day CHF8, Bratwurst with bread CHF12, Steak CHF35 (sml) CHF46 (lge). There is no vegetarian menu although polenta and pastas are available without meat. The childrens menu is half size portions of the adult pasta menu all at CHF16. House wines range from CHF5.5 - 6 per dl and there is a good wine list for bottled wines. Reservations advisable, although if you're willing to wait at the bar the staff will reserve a table when one becomes free. Open 8.30am - 4.30pm. MAD DOG FAVOURITE
