Skiing and snowboarding in Tignes
Beginners:The nursery slope Le Rosset in Le Lac is served by a chairlift and is conveniently located for a much-needed drink at the Loop Bar. When you’ve gained some confidence, try the gentle blues from the Palafour lift.
Intermediates:Get some mileage and head all the way over to Le Fornet – taking in greens and blues all the way there. For those with strong legs, ski all the way from the top of the Grande Motte at 3656m down to Val Claret at 2300m.
Advanced:For some ski tourism, advanced skiers should do their best on the
Face - an icy and steep black Olympic run down into Val d’Isere. Best skied first tracks after snowfall. Alternatively the
Sache is the most difficult black in Tignes with a very steep and bumpy last section.
Off-piste:Head to the SPOT area at the bottom of the Grattalu chair for free off-piste training and some controlled off-piste areas. With a guide, explore the many accessible routes found all over the ski area from the north face of the Pramecou in Tignes to the Tour du Charvet down to Val d’Isere.
