Mad Dog Ski: Ski Resort guidebooks for Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland

Food and drink - Serre Chevalier - France

Eating out in Serre Chevalier is a typically French affair, with many charming restaurants in the villages, serving local specialities. There are 14 restaurants to choose from on the mountain as well. Apres-ski too is very local and French - you won't find the enclaves of Brits that are a feature of other French resorts. However, the range of bars is good, and there are a couple of nightclubs too.

Five to try

Hotel Alliey
Michelin star restaurant serving a unique menu.

Brasera
A great pizzeria in Le Monetier.

Bachas

At the top of the Pre Chabert lift. Decent food with a great bar and a sun deck.

Bar l'Alpen
Probably the liquid heart of the village, with a wide variety of booze in all kinds of glasses.

La Grotte
Dark, beer filled and inevitably raucus.

Our penny’s worth

There are plenty of great places to eat, scattered around the string of villages, although some visitors claim the resort is too quiet. If you’re looking for a good night, try Loco Loco in Villeneuve or the Grotte.
