Top tips for

Flying

Grenoble airport is by far the best airport to get to Les Deux-Alpes, as by road it is nearby and fairly small, so you could be off the plane and out of the arrivals lounge in twenty minutes.  Lyon and Geneva airports are both close enough to get to the resort but if you can fly into Grenoble it will cut your transfer time dramatically. The larger airports tend to suffer from heavy congestion on Saturdays

Train

The Eurostar runs overnight services to Moutiers from where you can get a connection to Chambery and then Grenoble. You can then take a VFD bus up to the resort (one hour forty five minutes).  Alternatively, you could take the Eurostar to Paris (three and a half hours), a taxi from the Gare du Nord to the the Gare de Lyon (15 minutes, €20 max) and then the TGV to Grenoble (three hours). From there you can take the VFD bus up to the resort.

Transfers

There are several regular bus services from Grenoble airport, run by VFD, as well as some private transfer companies such as Ben's Bus. From Lyon, the Satobus shuttle runs via Grenoble to Les Deux Alpes.

Hiring a car is the most flexible option of travelling to Les Deux Alpes and it means you can travel around to see other resorts. Remember to take into account the extra cost of petrol, tolls and parking, and be sure to download a route-map before you leave. (You must carry snow chains by law).

For door-to-door, taxis are a good option, although not the cheapest.

Self-drive

Grenoble to Les Deux Alpes is 70km and takes around one hour - motorway to Grenoble (Exit n°8 "Briançon, Gap, the Oisans resorts"), then RN 91 direction Briançon via Bourg d'Oisans. At the Lac du Chambon dam, turn right and take the D213.

From Calais or Boulogne the drive takes around 12 hours. The motorways are the quickest route but you will have to pay around €50-60 in toll charges each way. Remember to carry snow chains.
