Rail Europe's Snowtrain leaves London St Pancras and Ebbsfleet International in Kent on a Friday evening to Paris, where you change onto an overnight sleeper train to the French Alps. The return train then leaves the Tarentaise on Saturday evening. You can also book the Eurostar ski trains and other routes to the Alps via their website.

The accommodation is in six-berth couchettes and the train also has an on-board bar and disco. The train runs from mid-January until the beginning of April and fares start from £219.
